Carlos Ortiz, of Bristol, Connecticut, has been charged as a fugitive from justice in connection with a murder case in Massachusetts. Former New England Patriot Aaron Hernandez, also of Bristol, was charged with murder.
A 27-year-old man from Bristol, Conn., has been charged as a fugitive from justice in connection with the murder case that former New England Patriot Aaron Hernandez was charged in yesterday.
Carlos Ortiz was charged in Connecticut as a fugitive from justice on Wednesday and appeared in Superior Court in Bristol, where he waived extradition to Massachusetts, according to the State's Attorney for the Judicial District of New Britain.
According to the state's attorney, Bristol police and the state's attorney's office have been assisting in the investigation into the homicide of Odin Lloyd, 27, of Dorchester, at the request of police in Massachusetts.
Hernandez was arrested yesterday and charged with Lloyd's murder.
Prosecutors said Hernandez orchestrated an execution-style killing because Lloyd talked to the wrong people at a Rhode Island nightclub.
The state's attorney said they can have no further comment because the investigation is ongoing.
All documents related to the case have been sealed by order of the court.
